Boston Gas Tank Rainbow Swash Coasters
Check out our new Boston gas tank inspired rainbow swash coasters! Growing up South of Boston, the landmark for being almost home was always this gas tank in Dorchester. To many Bostonians, this is an instantly recognizable part of local history that I have now duplicated for use in dining rooms from Eastie to Hyde Park! I have wanted to make these for some time and have just recently added a second AMS to be able to do so.
The original design dates back to 1971, when Corita Kent was commissioned to paint one of two LNG tanks next to the expressway. Updated in 1992, the current design is alleged to contain the profile of Ho Chi Minh in the blue swash. The history surrounding this otherwise inconspicuous tank made it a perfect fit for my first 7 color design and I am extremely happy to post it for the world to enjoy.
You can print 4 coasters per plate. I printed them in white with multicolored parts for the swash, so a second AMS is recommended for all 7 colors. You can change the colors if you are using one AMS.
