Description

3D Printed Gear Reducer

This project showcases a compact and robust gear reducer, fully 3D printable and easy to assemble.
The housing is secured with M4 screws and includes ball bearings to ensure smooth and durable shaft rotation.

Features:

  • Type: Planetary gear reducer
  • Motor: DC motor type 550 (or equivalent)
  • Materials: PLA or PETG for the housing
  • Bearings: Tree ball bearings for proper alignment and low friction per stage
  • Fasteners: Assembled using M4 screws
  • Output: Printed shaft compatible with various couplings and accessories

Purpose:

Designed for applications requiring high torque and low speed, such as robotics, actuator systems, or motorized arms.
The modular design allows for easy adjustment of gear ratios or quick motor replacement.

 

Materials: 

  • Per stage: 3 × M4 screws + 3 × M4 nuts
  • Bearings (per stage): 3 × 11×5×4 mm ball bearing
  • Front housing: 4 × M4×45 screw + 4 × M4 nut
  • Front bearing: 1 × 15×10×4 mm ball bearing
