Low-Friction TPU Spool Holder with Printed Bearings

😩 The Flexible TPU Problem...

Printing TPU 85A/90A with holders without bearings creates a lot of friction between the spool and the holder, which often leads to:

  • Stringing of the filament in the extruder.
  • Under-extrusion or print failure.
  • Poor print quality.

✅ The Solution: Total Smoothness!

I designed this Optimized Spool Holder to eliminate this problem at its root! Thanks to the integration of printed bearings, your TPU spool will glide with perfect resistance.

  • Zero Friction: The filament unwinds smoothly, drastically reducing tension on the extruder.
  • Quick Assembly: Assembly on the spool takes only a few seconds, thanks to the threading on one side.
  • Recommended Material: Designed to be printed in PLA, for a print suitable for everyone.

🛠️ Assembly

PHASE 1: Thread the first bearing and spacer onto the shaft

PHASE 2: Insert the spool holder onto the shaft, pushing it against the already inserted bearing

PHASE 3: Finish inserting the second bearing (making it touch the two stops of the spacer and the outer cylinder), the small                              thickness, and the end cap.

Final Phase: Once our system is assembled, simply insert it into the spool we need to use for printing, and screw on the                                                        outer block, in order to tighten the spool.

🛠️Holder Assembly

The holder is designed to be quickly mounted on the P1S chassis.

Thanks to the two small teeth, it simply hooks on and ensures stable support.

For now, the attachment of this model is only compatible with P1S/P1P.

If the model is successful in the future, I will also create the attachment system for other printers, so if you liked the model, please leave a like and boost me to support me. Thank you
