Description

Moku - Modular Desk System - Base Rail

Welcome to Moku, a new modular desk organization system designed in collaboration with my friend SabreDesign (@SabreDesign)! This is the foundation of the system: the Base Rail.

The Moku system is inspired by Japandi design, featuring a unique fluted texture and an organic, wavy profile that allows you to mix and match modules to build your perfect desk setup.

Customize Your Desk with MakerLab!

This Base Rail is fully parametric using MakerLab! You can easily customize:

  • Rail Count: Choose how many rails you need for your modules.
  • Length: Adjust the length of the rail to perfectly fit your desk space.

Two Versions Included:

  1. Standalone: A single, complete rail piece for a simple setup.
  2. Joinable: Features an end-to-end connection designed to be joined with a "Push Clip" (included file), allowing you to create extended rail systems for larger desks.

Key Features:

  • Modular Rail System Base: The foundation for the entire Moku collection.
  • Fully Parametric via MakerLab (Rail Count & Length).
  • Two Versions Included: Standalone or Joinable (with Push Clip).
  • Japandi-Inspired Fluted Texture and organic shape.
  • Prints Completely Support-Free.

Printing Recommendations:

  • Material: PLA or PETG recommended. Wood or textured filaments look fantastic.
  • Nozzle: 0.4mm.
  • Layer Height: 0.2mm.
  • Infill: 8% (or as specified in the .3mf profile).
  • Supports: None required.
  • Push Clips (for Joinable version): Print these at 100% infill for maximum strength.

Assembly (Joinable Version Only):

  1. Print your customized 'Joinable' Base Rail sections.
  2. Print 2x "Push Clip" file (100% infill recommended).
  3. Align two Base Rail sections end-to-end.
  4. Firmly insert the 2 Push Clip into the integrated slots to lock the two sections together.
