Mocky Table Lamp

Mocky Table Lamp draws its inspiration from the iconic shape of the Moka coffee pot, reinterpreting its familiar profile through a contemporary and minimal design language. The result is a sculptural table piece with a distinctive hourglass form and sharp vertical flutes that recall the faceted metal body of a traditional espresso maker, now transformed into a warm and elegant source of ambient light.

The lamp consists of two main components — the upper diffuser and the lower base — joined to create a cohesive and balanced silhouette. The base is designed to host a smooth-sleeve E14 bulb holder, with an integrated slot that allows the passage of a power cable equipped with a bedside switch. Assembly is quick and intuitive: only four M3x5–6 flat-head screws are required to connect the two parts, ensuring a secure fit and a perfectly aligned structure without adhesives or additional tools.

It prints cleanly without supports using a 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layer height, two perimeters, and 10% infill. Translucent PLA or PETG filaments are highly recommended, as they allow the internal light to diffuse smoothly through the ridged surface, emphasizing the lamp’s faceted geometry and producing soft tonal variations reminiscent of the Moka’s polished reflections.

The underside of the base features recessed screw housings that keep the contact surface perfectly flat and stable. This detail also allows the optional addition of small rubber pads or felt discs to improve grip and protect delicate surfaces.

Compact yet striking, Mocky Table Lamp blends industrial heritage with modern craftsmanship. Its geometry pays tribute to Italian design tradition while embracing the possibilities of 3D printing, making it a distinctive decorative accent for desks, nightstands, or any space that values both innovation and timeless form.
