My previous auto-locking towel hanger was well received, so I decided to create another version. This one features a ribbed design, often associated with Japandi style. This hanger is smaller than usual. I had a problem with the balls used in couple other hooks, they were coming off. This one is designed so that the ball can't come off.
It is designed to accommodate the most common towels (more than 95%, based on 2,500+ reviews). Unusually thick towels might not fit. To use it, insert the towel into the slot, pull it all the way up, roll it over the ball then release it. To get it out, pull the towel all the way up, and pull it to the side.

It is print-in-place, the ball breaks from the support easily thanks to a custom painted support. After printing, keep the ball fixed with one finger and pull the support to remove it. If you are not using my profile, check my profile to see how the support should be configured.
There are 2 versions:
1- Double-sided Tape Version:Â
There is a slot on the back on this version. The slot accepts maximum 20mm wide tape (1 line of 15mm or 2 lines of 10mm also work). The slot is ribbed so that the tape sticks better. I would highly recommend thick & transparent double-sided tape (sometimes has red lining) because foamy ones tend to leave residue: Link to the recommended double-sided tape.
2- Screw Mount Version:
This one comes in two pieces: The hanger itself and the mount. The mount has slots for 2 screws. These have 8.5mm diameter entry and 5mm exit to fit various screws. Before screwing the mount in, make sure the parts fit together. The fit is quite tight but if you have a properly calibrated printer and a dry filament it'll fit near perfectly. If not, you can file the small tabs which are at the end of the mount. Make sure to remove the brim from the mount after printing (you can clean the edges up with a knife):
