Long March 8A (codename: CZ-8A, abbreviated as Long Eight A Rocket) is a carrier rocket developed under the overall leadership of the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (hereinafter referred to as "Rocket Academy"), which is affiliated with China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation Limited. It is an improved Long March 8 carrier rocket developed by China.

The Long March 8A carrier rocket was developed and improved based on the Long March 8 carrier rocket to meet the future launch requirements for giant constellations in medium and low orbits. This rocket adopts the core first stage and boosters of the Long March 8 carrier rocket. Its core second stage is a newly developed 3.35-meter diameter general-purpose hydrogen-oxygen upper stage, equipped with a 5.2-meter diameter fairing. The Long March 8A, along with the basic model of the Long March 8 carrier rocket and the booster-less tandem configuration, collectively form the Long March 8 series of launch vehicles, creating a payload capacity echelon for Sun-synchronous orbit of 3-ton, 5-ton, and 7-ton classes, effectively enhancing China's satellite constellation launch capability for medium and low orbits.
