The joint is to delicate. If you want it to sit on a desk, it is great. If you give them out to kids, they last a few minutes. This one broke when it fell from the build plate to the desk. The artistic design is good. Make the joint more robust, and it will be excellent.

I would check your filament to see if it is brittle. I have passed out and sold lots of these and have not had that issue. I knew many others that have printed this one as well and have not had this issue as well. Please make sure your filament can handle this type of articulation.

I am using Bambu dual color PLA. I live in a dry area and still dry filament as needed. AMS runs around 20 percent with forced heat drying our already dry air. The filament works for the tiny dragons and other small articulated prints. I let them cool, as suggested. It is a cool design.

I printed in PLA silk and PLA. The PLA silk broke likes yours easily but I didn't wait until the bed was cooled. I probably won't print anymore in silk. I just gave a few to students, so I will get feedback too.

i printed a beautiful blue baby boy with amolen’s firefly blue that sparkles and glows under uv (would HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone making this as he looks very similar to the real blue raspberry w sugar sparkle but heed my warning: it’s transparent enough to see the infill so plan accordingly!) i couldn’t be happier with my son so enjoy the boost as well <3

Strength Issue:the print was really cute, but they broke immediately.

Sorry to hear that. Looks like you used silk or matte? This will be brittle with that filament.

new to 3d printing love the design but when I printed the item I had a problem with the arms, when I tried to free the arms to move they broke, is this something with my printer settings. Used a FlashForge AD5X, FlashForge Orca slicer, 0.4 nozzle. Legs body and head were fine

Sorry to hear this happened. 2 thing jump out at me for this. Did you scale it down and what kind of filament did you use?

Replying to @NES3D :
No did not scale it and used standard PLA

I am not sure why this would have happened then. Should be just fine after it cools and then you take off the build plate. I have printed tons of these for markets and haven't had any do this.

Does it work well if we size it down any?

Thanks for the quick reply! I have printed some for students and I will test a mini print. I'll post pictures soon. Any tips or videos on how I can teach students to do these type of designs?

I have pre made templates for articulated joints that I made and use. If you would like we can schedule some time in the future and I can do a screen share to give you a run down. I have only uploaded 1 video so far on my YouTube page (not great but it helps I have been told) so far that is a run down on how I make LED Lamps/Light Boxes. I plan on making more videos but I am just so busy all the time. Videos are on the bottom of my priority list.
