GE 9x Engine Handheld Windmill Toy Wind Spinner

Description
Hi everyone,
IT SPINS IN BREEZE
Here’s a simple and fun toy — great for both kids and adults!
The fan is inspired by the GE9X turbofan engine from the Boeing 777X. I designed it to look as close as possible to the real thing while keeping it easy to print — no supports required.
The original design is meant for kids, so the fan blades are printed as a single smooth piece with a large outer ring — no sharp edges exposed. It’s safe, clean, and satisfying to spin!
Materials you’ll need:
- Filament
One ball bearing (the one I used is a bit larger since that’s what I had on hand):
8 mm bore × 22 mm OD × 7 mm width (608-type bearing)
You can find these easily on Amazon.
If you have a different bearing size, just let me know — I can modify the CAD for you.
Printing tips:
If you run into issues with the classic wall-kept profile, try the included .3mf profile I provided — it’s tuned for reliable printing.
For the shaft, printer tolerances vary: I use a friction fit for the bearing area and a bit of super glue for the rest (not always necessary if your tolerances are tight).
If your fit feels too loose or tight, adjust the XY Contour Compensation in 0.1 mm steps until it’s perfect.
Assemble:
Here is the section view blow, also check the image gallery, is should be simple.
That’s about it — simple, safe, and fun!
If you print one, I’d love to hear your feedback or see your results.
