Articulated Expandable rattle snake toy

A flexible, snap-together snake toy that expands link by link. Each segment adds 15 mm in length, with a 9-link version measuring around 20 cm. It’s fun to fidget with at smaller sizes, but even more satisfying when printed longer.

The set includes pre-built versions with 9, 18, and 36 links, plus an expansion pack without head and tail for building even longer snakes.

Links snap together with a firm click — some force and slight wiggling may be needed to connect them properly.

Print times and filament use:

• 9 links: under 1 hour – 20 g

• 18 links: 1.5 hours – 35 g

• 36 links: under 3 hours – 64 g

Prints without brims. For best results, use a clean and well-leveled build plate.

I haven’t tested silk PLA. Since it’s usually more brittle, it will likely not hold up well when snapping the links together. Use standard PLA for best results.
