Shower Strainer for Viega drain

The original Kaldewei / Viega hair strainer for the shower is unfortunately too coarse, allowing most hairs to pass through and causing the drain to clog regularly.

To solve this problem, I designed a precisely fitting replacement shower strainer. The strainer has been successfully tested over an extended period and has proven to be highly reliable in everyday use.

Dimensions:

• Diameter: ⌀ 60 mm

• Height: approx. 25 mm

   

Printing Recommendations:

• Material: White PETG – ensures high strength and durability.
• Supports: Enable to achieve clean overhangs.
• Orientation: Print vertically – this yielded the best results in my tests.
• Wall Thickness: Set to 3 perimeters (or 3 walls).
• Print Speed: Keep below 100 mm/s for a clean surface finish.

I’ve revised the shower strainer and uploaded a new version.
The center piece (bridge) is now sturdier. Additionally, I slightly adjusted the holes—on the first print, two of them were too close together.
