Smart Chair Leg Extension - Chair Leg Extension

I designed an extension for chair legs to prevent stubbing your toes when sitting down or standing up. The goal was a simple yet effective solution that could be attached to existing chair legs.

Products & Materials Used:

• Adjustable rubber feet (M6 thread) serve as the base, such as the product with ASIN B0CKDYLMVC on Amazon
• The chair used is the Invicta Interior "Papillon" swivel chair 
• My extension was designed as a 3D model and then printed, so it is precisely adapted to the existing chair leg + foot profile.

Functionality:
The extension is attached to the bottom end of the chair leg and secured with the rubber feet. It extends the leg and ensures that the foot area is further forward – so you no longer accidentally hit the edge of the chair leg itself when getting on or off. 

Why this project?
During daily use of swivel chairs (especially when they swivel or recline), it's easy to stub your toe against the leg – unpleasant, especially in confined spaces. My extension provides a solution: a minor modification, a major gain in comfort. The project also shows how standard hardware (rubber feet) can be combined with custom 3D solutions – ideal for makers who want to improve or personalize their furniture.

Implementation Notes:

• Before printing, be sure to take the exact measurements of the chair leg (diameter, "M" thread if present, foot profile).
• Material choice: I used PLA – sufficiently stable for normal use. Those expecting heavier loads can choose PETG or ASA.
• The rubber feet with M6 thread offer height adjustment – this also makes leveling on uneven floors easier.
• Appearance: I printed the extension in a neutral color so that it blends well with the overall look of the Papillon chair.

Conclusion:
A small upgrade with a big impact: easy to manufacture, inexpensive, individually customizable – perfect for anyone who wants to make their chair more comfortable without having to buy a new design immediately
