I had a bookshelf with a flap door, and the soft-close dampers were literally tearing the wood they were inserted into.
I designed this reinforcement plate, which is applied with 4 M3 countersunk self-tapping screws, 16mm long in my case.
Laterally, it has a slot that was necessary for removing the damper from its seat; it was the only way to insert and fix the plate. I brought the screws closer on that side to try and prevent the plate, which is robust and solid, from flexing too much.

Now the soft-close damper remains firmly fixed to the wood!
