Description

UCO Candle Mold - Simple, Functional, and Perfectly Proportioned

I designed this candle mold from scratch after being frustrated with the shortcomings of the existing UCO candle molds. Most of the available options were poorly proportioned—either too small, too tapered at the top, or featuring a rounded top, all of which caused problems when starting a new candle in a UCO lantern. They were also unnecessarily complex. One mold I tried was made of TPU with a sliding mechanism, but after making a few candles, they would get stuck, making removal a real hassle. Filling those molds felt like you needed an advanced degree just to get it right.

Determined to fix these issues, I created this mold with proper dimensions, precisely replicating the taper of the official UCO candles for a perfect fit in your UCO candle lantern.

Features and Instructions:

Simplicity and functionality were my top priorities in designing this mold. Here’s what makes it different:

  • Integrated Funnel: The mold includes a built-in funnel at the top for easy pouring. No additional tools or attachments needed!
  • Flat, Easy-to-Assemble Design: There are no unnecessary tabs or intricate mechanisms—just flat parts that fit snugly together. For the best seal, I recommend lightly sanding the connecting surfaces with sandpaper to ensure a tight fit.
  • Groove for Wick Management: At the base of the mold, a groove is provided to securely hold excess candle wick, keeping it upright during pouring.
  • Wick Holder with Alignment Stopper: The funnel includes two small holes for inserting the included wick holder.
  • Secure Assembly: Use elastic bands or other simple tools to hold the two parts of the mold together while pouring wax. Personally I use some tape.

This mold is designed to make your candle-making experience frustration-free, ensuring a perfect fit for your UCO lantern every time.

HEADS UP: Two very important things:

  1. Don't pour your wax while it is still hot. It should be warm, and just ready to start solidifying. If it's too hot, it will be thing, and leak right out, whereas if its warm, when it make contact with the cold mold, it will harden at the edges preventing leakage!
  2. It is highly recommended you wait for your candle to completely cool before removing!! if you dont, the wax will stick the mold and it will be impossible to remove and use again. Candle wax shrinks - wait for it. It'll be worth it, trust me.
