Description

An oil fill funnel with an M28x3.5 thread. Confirmed to fit on the 2022+ Civic Si (the L15CA engine) but it's likely compatible with other models that use the same filler cap / valve cover (L15B engines), just haven't tested with those. 3mf and f3d files included- thread diameter, thread pitch, and hex hole size are parametric.

Filaments that can withstand higher temperatures and are more chemical-resistant work best. This means that ASA and PETG are both good choices. I used ASA-CF for mine, since that was the best choice from what I had. PLA probably does work if that's all you have, but I'm not sure how well it would hold up over time.

The funnel exit hole is hexagonal to provide a way to remove the threaded portion (using a 17mm male hex) should the part fail at the top of the threads due to over-tightening.

Please DO NOT use any fiber reinforced filaments or recommend them as the fine fibers will get over your hands if you simply handle the parts and you definitely don’t want them in your engine.

Noted- just standard PETG and ASA are likely the best choice, just didn’t have them on hand. I have heard of people saying this about fiber-reinforced filaments, but in my experience I haven’t noticed any fibers shedding off, unless you’re sanding it or something. Wiping down the finished prints with a cloth or something still wouldn’t hurt though, if there are any loose fibers after printing.

Great model. I created an extension for this funnel so that it can also be used to fill transmission fluid. https://makerworld.com/en/models/2783053-funnel-extension#profileId-3093394

Thanks! I actually just hit 30k this morning, lol, so I’ll have to try this out for the trans fluid change.
