The McDonnell Douglas F-4E is a variant of the F-4 with an internally mounted 20mm M61A1 Vulcan cannon, improved engines, and enhanced avionics. It is the most widely produced version of the Phantom, capable of all-weather interception, night attacks, and close air support.
