Description

A theory of quantum mechanics called "indeterminacy" states that mathematically a particle can be in two states at the same time. Schrödinger wanted to prove that wasn't true, so he came up with an illustration. This experiment is only hypothetical and can't really be done.
Schrödinger said that if you put a cat in a box with a poison that could kill it, after an hour the cat has a 50% chance of being alive and a 50% chance of being dead. According to quantum mechanics, since we can't see into the box to know if the cat is alive or dead, the cat is both alive and dead. Of course, we know this is not possible, nothing can be alive and dead at the same time. This is exactly what Schrödinger wanted to show.

but now we have a chance.
schrodinger cat paradox machine!
Turn the lever and find out if the cat is alive or dead, whenever you want!

Cute. It would be better if it were possible to fit the pieces together and not glue them

Most of the pieces are snap-fit, maybe in the future I'll fix them all, it's doable

I love the design! Thank you, this will make the perfect gift for a friend. As a physicist though, I must correct your description. Schrödinger was not against the foundational ideas of quantum mechanics; in fact, he was a major contributor through his development of the Schrödinger equation. A differential equation which contains information about all possible states of a system and which allows for superposition or indeterminacy. Importantly, the thought experiment with the cat was not meant to "disprove" quantum mechanics but to demonstrate the counterintuitive consequences of applying quantum principles to the macroscopic world. :)

Hello I'm glad you liked my design I designed it for some physicist friends Thank you for the clarification but not being a physicist myself I merely copied what I found on Wikipedia my fault :) I hope you have fun

great print. glueing was easy. the cat doesn’t pop out all the time, but when it does, it’s amazing. really cool quantum mechanics problem too

Other Issues:The cat doesn't always pop up properly. It gets stuck at an angle or on the edge. Really cool idea though.

Thanks, it can happen but it works more often :) If you liked it a little, leave a boost to improve it
