Elbow Joint Replacement for Rotrics Dexarm
Print Profile(1)

Description
The plates that hold the Rotrics Dexarm's joints in place broke on me after two years of intensive use. I modeled and printed these replacements, based on the original CAD files of the arm provided by Jonatan Bisk on Grabcad. The replacement plates are thicker and shaped to withstand the forces better, while keeping the same range of motion. When printed with 30% infill they are twice as heavy as the originals, but the Dexarm can handle that easily.
If your Dexarm's elbow joints are showing cracks near the hinges, print these as backups before it's too late.
It is advisable to increase the size of the model in the horizontal plane by the % of shrinkage of your filament. For PETG, scale it to a value between 100.3% to 100.6%.
The left and right models are different in that one has a peg and the other a slot to connect them in the center of the arm for added stability.
To install the printed parts, simply remove the 3 screws from one side of the arm, take out the old elbow plate and screw the new one in. Then do the same for the other side.
