Description

I’m a Japan lover learning the language step by step, and I built this to help myself (and you!) memorize Katakana faster. Each slot lets you slide a cover to reveal either the kana character or the romaji—so you test recall first, then check the answer.

Why it’s useful

  • Active recall: Hide/show kana or romaji to train memory instead of just reading charts.
  • Tactile learning: The sliding action makes short practice sessions fun and sticky.
  • Desk-friendly: Clean look, rounded edges, easy to grab for 5-minute drills.

What’s included

  • Main board with recessed windows
  • Individual slider caps
  • Label cutouts for clean kana/romaji visibility

Assembly

Press-fit the sliders in each slot. They should move smoothly and not fall out when you assemble the Top part.
I used simple glue to stick bottom and top.
