A complete historical chess experience —
Each side represents one of the two armies, sculpted piece by piece with historical accuracy and character:
- Confederate Army (South) — King Gen. Robert E. Lee through eight unique Pawns, featuring officers, scouts, and standard bearers of the Army of Northern Virginia (1865).
- Union Army (North) — King Gen. Ulysses S. Grant through eight unique Pawns, representing the disciplined might of the Federal Army.
Every model includes fine details inspired by authentic uniforms, weapons, and field gear of the era.
Print as individual figures or complete armies for display or play.
Tip: Anneal your PLA prints for +10–20 % strength — perfect for durable game pieces.

Two Armies — One Historic Chess Set


Two complete chess sets, each modeled piece by piece to reflect the opposing forces of the American Civil War.
- Confederate Army: King (General Robert E. Lee) through eight unique Pawns — 16 total pieces.
- Union (Federal) Army: King (General Ulysses S. Grant) through eight unique Pawns — 16 total pieces.
Each figure is sculpted with careful attention to historical uniforms, gear, and symbolism from 1865.

A strong filament is recommended — or anneal your set for additional strength (see below).
♨️ ANNEALING — Hardening Your Chess Pieces
Annealing your PLA models can improve strength by 10 – 20 %.
If you plan to play with these sets regularly, annealing is highly recommended.
If your goal is display or occasional play, annealing is optional.
The appearance and finish remain unchanged.
