6mm Stainless Steel Balls (10PCS) - FA001

Description

Orbloop - is a pocket-sized marble run you can hold in your hand. Spin it, tilt it, and watch the marbles roll through their hidden path as the outer ring turns. It’s simple, satisfying, and weirdly addictive - the kind of thing you pick up just to try once and end up spinning for minutes.

Hold it vertically, give it a twist, and watch the motion loop forever (or at least until you realize you’ve been staring for way too long).

Precision printed. Perfectly pointless. Infinitely fun. ♾️

Motion is coming to your favorite OrbLoop

A universal motorized dock is currently in development.

UPDATE - Jan 5, 2025
No steel balls? No worries 😄 You can now print your own! Use the OrbLoop Marbles print profile. It includes 20 balls (you only need 10 for one OrbLoop). Print in PLA for best results - PETG is not recommended.

Assembly

You’ll need 10 × 6 mm stainless steel balls - available from the Bambu Lab Store (recommended) or any hardware shop. Feed the balls one by one through the loading hole, then press in the printed cover until it fits snugly.

That’s it — you’re good to go.

Special thanks to the talented @engineericly team for featuring OrbLoop and collaborating on the OrbLoop Pro Max edition :)

Bringing a model to life takes time, effort, and plenty of filament. If this design helped you, your boost gives me 43 grams of filament—fuel for the next idea. Thanks for your support! 🚀

The OrbLoop was originally designed for 6 mm steel ball bearings. If you’d like to use a different ball size, simply scale the entire model uniformly using the factors below. This keeps all tolerances correct and ensures smooth motion.

Ball SizeScale Factor (%)
5 mm83.33 %
6 mm100.00 % (original)
6.35 mm (1/4")105.83 %
7 mm116.67 %
8 mm133.33 %
9 mm150.00 %

💡 Can’t find your desired size? Use this simple formula: your_size × 100 / 6 = scale factor (%)
⚠️ Going below 5 mm is not recommended when using a 0.4 mm nozzle, as the internal clearances become too tight and the outer gear may not rotate smoothly around the base. If you plan to print smaller than that, a 0.2 mm nozzle is recommended for better precision.
