Description

Felt Cutting Jigs for 1960 Dubrovnik Chess Set (100% & 110% Scale)

This download provides two separate 3D-printed jigs to accurately and repeatably cut felt pads for the 1960 Dubrovnik Chess Set.

The purpose of this tool is to create perfectly sized felt circles to apply to the bottom of your weighted chess pieces. This protects your wooden chessboard from scratches and provides a smooth, classic gliding feel during play.

Source Chess Model

These templates are precisely sized to match the pieces from the following amazing model from https://makerworld.com/fr/@ezee.one:

Please ensure you print the jig that matches the scale you chose for your chess pieces.

Key Features

  • Precision Sizing: The holes are designed to match the flat inner base of the pieces, not the wider, rounded bead at the bottom. The calculations are based on the specific geometry of the source model.
  • Felt Inset: The diameter of each hole is calculated to be 0.3mm smaller than the inner base, ensuring the felt pad sits perfectly flush and does not overhang the edge.
  • Tapered Guide Holes: The top of each hole is conical (tapered) to easily guide a pencil or the blade of a craft knife. The bottom 1mm of the hole is a straight wall to ensure a precise, vertical edge for cutting.
  • Clear Labels: Each hole is debossed with its standard English abbreviation (K, Q, N, B, R, P) for easy identification.
  • Ergonomic Design: The template features rounded corners for a comfortable grip (applied in-slicer).
