Description
Hello Pokemon Fans,
our kids are quite new to Pokemon TCG and are just learning how to use a ready-to-play deck.
It was important to us that the cards were always well protected. So we started with sleeves and now needed a deck box.
Here on MakerWorld, during my search, I came across many nice boxes, but none that fully met my expectations.
For us, the game includes not only the 60 cards but also damage dice, damage counters, status indicators, coins, and more.
The deck box should therefore also be suitable for these.
On Thingiverse, I then found a model that appealed to me visually.
However, this version also didn't quite meet my expectations, so I remixed it.
I have naturally linked the original.
My requirements were:
The deck box should:
- be able to hold 60 sleeved cards
have a separate compartment for accessories (faithful 12x12 damage dice for the compartment can be found here:
- be absolutely securely closed (even in a school bag or backpack) so that the lid cannot accidentally open and cards fall out
My remix includes:
- Enlarged internal compartments to accommodate 60 sleeved cards, as the original was only for unsleeved cards
- Added a lockable gripping recess to better remove cards from the main compartment without having to tip the box upside down
- Added holes for 4x2 magnets in the box and lid to keep the box absolutely securely closed. Four magnets are required for this
The result is a 2-compartment deck box with a sliding lid that can be opened flexibly in both directions. You can therefore open the box from either direction. This lid is additionally secured by four 4x2 magnets.
Two on the bottom part and two in the lid.
The magnetic lids are available in the following designs:
- Pikachu
- Pokeball
- no design
- all 11 energies distributed across 2 print profiles:
- Fire, Psychic, Grass, Water, Fighting, Lightning, Normal
- Darkness, Metal, Fairy, Dragon
The box has been adapted to the dimensions for sleeved cards. An entire sleeved deck fits inside – if you push it to the limit, it can even hold 68 cards, or 60 cards and a large coin would also work.
A small compartment at the front is suitable for storing small parts.
The small and large compartments are spatially separated by a retractable divider. If you slide out this divider with the Pokeball design, you get a practical gripping recess to grab the deck down to the last card.
A small demonstration as a GIF is attached:

Printing tips:
Adding a wide brim has proven absolutely effective in my various test prints.
Print the small semicircular cover for the gripping recess without a brim to avoid compromising the exact fit due to potential burr remnants.
Assembly instructions:
Pay attention to the polarity of the magnets so that the lid and box do not repel each other.
You may need to use a little superglue for secure magnet attachment. However, mine have held up without it so far.
Boost Me (for free)
I have put a lot of work, time, and filament into this remix to make it as perfect as possible. If you like the result, leave a Boost – it gives something back to me and rewards me greatly.
Reminder: Pokemon is a registered trademark, whose rights I do not wish to infringe. The brand name was used for design purposes only. We are in no way affiliated with this brand and should not be confused with it. This is not an official Pokemon product but fan art – remixed by a Pokemon fan who needed a nice box for their card decks.
