iMac 27” Late 2009-Mid 2010 Monitor Conversion Kit
Print Profile(1)

Description
This set includes all the brackets and covers required for converting an Apple iMac 27” (Late 2009 or Mid 2010) to reuse the device as an external monitor. All parts were designed, tested, and installed based on an original iMac 27" Late 2009 during a real hardware conversion.
Each model is designed to fit perfectly into the original mounting points and housing geometry, without any modification to the aluminum chassis.

Compatibility
- iMac 27” Late 2009 (iMac10,1) ✅
- iMac 27” Mid 2010 (iMac11,3) ✅ (same chassis)
- iMac 27” Mid 2011 (iMac12,2) ⚠️ partially compatible
- iMac 27” 2012 and later (“Thin Edge”) ❌ not compatible
Assembly Notes
- If the controller board and the additional boards (e.g. inverter, PSU, remote board) are fixed using only two screws each, you can reuse the original iMac screws and don't need additional ones.
- The brackets are designed to ensure that no PCB touches the aluminum housing.
- Optionally, you can add a thin insulating layer (e.g. black tape) for extra safety.
For my own conversion, I used this controller board and can confirm that it fits perfectly:
Make sure to check if it's the right board for your panel.
📸 Notes
All photos show the actual mounts installed in a real iMac 27" Late 2009 conversion.
The provided STL files exactly match those components, except for the right crossover filter mount, which is already the updated version with improved cable management.
