Boost Me (for free)
Parametric models are cool, don't you think? Consider giving me a boost to make more cool parametric models.
Make your own legs in the exact dimensions you need or want for your platform to put whatever you want on.
Also check out my other legs which doesn't require any screws, glue or dowels.
These legs are strong. I had 9 kg of items on the platform I made and it did not bulge even the slightest bit.
The print profile has legs with a height of 100 mm and width of supports of 110 mm. Leg thickness is 30 mm and corners are rounded with a radius of 15 mm.
I used 6mm diameter dowels with a length of 30mm.
Screws had thread diameter of 3.5 mm.
When you print these legs, you have the option to make drill guide with the same settings as you will use for the legs. This way you can mark holes exactly where you need them.
BOM

You will need the following pr leg:
1 dowel. Print one or use wooden ones, whatever you want.
2 screws

Assembly
Use the drill guide to mark holes
Drill pilot holes for the 2 screws. Not strictly needed, but is nice.
Drill holes in your plate for the dowels.
How deep to drill? Depends on the size of your dowel and thickness of your plate.
- Your plate is thinner than half the dowel length plus 6 mm: Plate thickness minus 4 mm.
- Your plate is thicker than half the dowel length plus 6 mm: Half the dowel length plus approximately 2 mm.
Put the dowels in the plate. You may use glue if fit is loose.
Put the legs on the dowels. Glue may be added if fit is loose. It was tight for me.
Screw in the screws.
