DIY Air Purifier Kit for Xiaomi Mi Air Filter

Don't throw money for brand new air purifier !

With my easy-to-print kit Purifier Kit, even in PLA, you can achieve the same results as an expensive air purifier. All you need is a common, 120mm or 140mm, PC fan and this 3D printed kit to create a portable and efficient air purifier for any room, office, or workshop.

For optimal performance and to achieve results comparable to much more expensive commercial purifiers, we highly recommend using a High Static Pressure fan, in my case i use 220v version for best result.

MODEL:

The design consists of two main parts: a stable base (optional for aesthetic purposes) and a top cover that securely houses the fan. The top features a stylish spiral grille that optimizes airflow, quietly pushing clean air into your space. The fan actively pulls air through the entire 360-degree surface of the original Xiaomi filter, effectively trapping dust, pollen, and other airborne particles. It's a fantastic project that's both functional and sustainable.

Important Note on Fan Selection: The type and airflow (CFM) of the fan significantly impact the final performance of your air purifier.

We highly recommend using a high-static pressure fan, typically found in CPU coolers or radiators, rather than standard case fans. A 140mm fan is generally recommended for optimal coverage, capable of purifying a room of approximately 50 square meters without issues.

Assembly:

  1. Print the top cover (and optionally the bottom base).
  2. Install a 120mm or 140mm PC fan inside the top cover. You might need short screws depending on your fan model.
  3. Place your Xiaomi Mi Air filter onto a surface (or onto the printed base, if you chose to print it).
  4. Fit the top cover with the fan onto the filter.
  5. Connect the fan to a suitable power source.

COMPONENTS:

To use 12V computer fans, I suggest using this speed controller, which is powered by a simple USB Type-C connection. LINK
