Wayne State University Modern Logo Shield
I couldn’t find a modern 3D model of my university’s logo — located in the heart of Detroit — so I created one!
This design now includes two variations, shown in the images:
- Solid Version (Original) – Clean, bold center “W” for a traditional look
- Hollow Version (New) – The white center is cut out, giving it a lighter, more modern feel and letting the background show through
The hollow version not only changes the look, but also:
- Uses less filament
- Prints faster
- Adds a unique layered effect depending on your surface or wall color
Both versions are designed as a large display shield that stands at a 55° angle, with a small rear support piece for stability. The base can be attached using super glue or PVC pipe glue for a strong hold.
The design matches the current official WSU style and colors.
