I. Project Background
After getting the DJI Osmo Nano, it was found that official accessories lack a vertical shooting hat clip magnetic base, affecting flexible shooting in scenarios like cycling and hiking. For this, a protective case with integrated magnetic function was designed to achieve free vertical shooting with a hat clip through simple modification, solving a pain point at low cost!

II. Materials List

1. 3D printed protective case (file uploaded to Maker World)

   

2. 1 section of Deli blade (or alternative thin metal sheet)

   

3. super glue (401 recommended)

   

    

III. Production Steps
1. 3D Printed Protective Case

• Download the STL file in the attachment and print with PLA or PLA/PETG/ABS material (recommended 0.2mm layer height, 30% infill).
• Protective case design features:
  ✅ Blade mounting groove reserved at the bottom
  ✅ Side magnetic area compatible with standard magnetic accessories
  ✅ Lightweight open-hole design, does not obstruct heat dissipation

2. Blade Installation

• Take a section of Deli blade (about 10MM long), sand the edges to prevent cutting hands.
• Apply a small amount of glue to the groove at the bottom of the protective case, center the blade and press for 1 minute to fix it.
• Let it sit to ensure the glue is fully cured.

IV. Usage Scenarios

• Cycling/Hiking: Attach the protective case to the brim of the hat via the blade and official hat clip to record a first-person perspective in vertical shooting mode.
• Quick Switching: Magnetic design supports 1-second assembly and disassembly, instantly switching to handheld or tripod mode.
• Compatibility: Adapts to the suction force of standard hat clip magnetic areas.

⚠️ Check the firmness after blade installation to prevent it from falling off during movement.
