Bathtub Bubbler / Foamer Drill Attachment
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is a drill attachment that makes bubble baths AWESOME. It uses a ¼" steel hex rod (stainless steel recommended) to avoid the problem of a printed shaft from breaking due to the high torque of most drills. It's also designed to be easily printed with a much shorter print time and less filament and supports than other models.
Parts Required
- ¼" hex rod - 6" long ($2.48 USD ea. at McMaster-Carr)
Assembly Instructions
As soon as the print is finished, before the part has time to cool, take it off the build plate, insert the steel rod into the side that was on the build plate, and hammer the part onto the rod. It is a tight fit on purpose, but easy to hammer in. Once the part cools, the thermal contraction will ensure a good mate.
I sized the model for the steel rods I received which were 6.30mm. If your rods are a different size, or you can't insert the rod immediately after the print finishes, you may want to scale it accordingly.
Tips For Awesome Bubble Baths
- Make sure your drill is on its fastest setting
- Be generous with the soap / bubble bath / etc
- There is a sweet spot for how deep you should put the attachment into the water; you'll know when you hit it (see ~5s into the gif)
- The longer you run the drill, the more water and soap you'll need
- You can get a lot of bubbles, but it takes time
