Having two cats, I needed to protect the 3D printer's workspace from their curiosity, which led to the idea of creating this enclosure

The panels measure 250x250x5mm, fully occupying the print bed They are designed for interlocking assembly (you might need to lightly sand the pins where they connect with the supports)

The profile includes 3 versions:

  1. Side panel 250x250x5mm
  2. Corner interlocking panel 250x250x5mm
  3. Smaller side panel 120x250x5mm

The threaded supports can be attached under the desk with foam double-sided tape The enclosure is very light, and I haven't encountered any stability issues so far

I believe screwing them in is also an option, though I haven't tested it

Use it to protect your desks, or get creative with it

So excited to print this one. I have pythons who need ventilation and cats who love to try and sit on top python enclosures where the ventilation is. I’ve had a pvc pipe and anti bird net set up for the longest time, which works but is like an ugly football goal. So something modular and aesthetic like this is a dream come true. Printer is new and still calibrating so might take a bit to get going but keen nonetheless!

Replying to @half.blood.nerd :
It went well! I didn’t think about the fact that the enclosure has a lip on it so I ended up drilling through the mounts and using two of them as a clamp (instead of sticking them to the edge with adhesive). If I did it again I’d probably try to extend the mounts to make a stronger clamp/screw the fence into the enclosure directly but that’s my bad for being too excited and not thinking ahead haha. The actual profile come out great! I printed it all in PETG across a few days. Had a bit of trouble putting the corner together when I bumped it off the table and snapped the tabs 🙃A bit of superglue and we recovered though! I’m really happy with it as a replacement from the old mesh, and can confirm the closest the cats can now get to the snakes is through the window when we take the snakes out for some sun :) Thanks for the design!
