Description

This is a fully 3d-printed Wedge Conveyor system.

Wedge conveyors are commonly used in the manufacturing industry to get products from floor level to the roof level….or vice versa.

This is a highly efficient elevator type that allows a continuous flow of products instead of more conventional elevators that work intermittent.

The products are transported into the wedge with a normal conveyor. The soft, flexible TPU-cleats (that are fitted on the chain links) will then grab the product gently to transport it vertically. A very space efficient solution that is very easy to control electrically with simple programming for the PLC-guy. The product are then put down on a normal conveyor, this time on a higher (or lower) level compared to the floor.

I think this conveyor is suitable for prototypes, school projects in automation or even as a fun rig to show off at an exhibition where the product will draw attention when elevated by this (for many people) unknown elevator type. Maybe even a fun thing to do at parties!

See the Assembly Instructions to see how to print and build this conveyor.

I also submitted the step file of the entire wedge conveyor assembly among the other step files-look for KE-0100v77.step.

Here are some links to some videos that demonstrate test runs of various products.

Works for many more types of products, like cartons, boxes, bottles and so on:
