Build your own home assistant voice sattelite :)
If you don't want to have another device that collect dust with ugly cable, just mount it in your ceiling.
You need 68mm hole in ceiling and 37mm of space. Device is powered by usb C … yes I know … 230V would be more convinient, but safety first. I preliminary ordered 230V→5V converter and I was suprised that it is not isolated. Finally for my own and all enthiustias diy safety I decided to do it with usb C. For sure you will find old 5W useless charger :)
As a HW base I used respeaker lite board with esp32-s3 ( https://wiki.seeedstudio.com/reSpeaker_usb_v3/ ). It works really great. My sattelite is placed almost in the middle of my 58m2 flat and I have no issue to trigger commands from every room even if tv or radio play. Noise cancellation works!
As a SW I bases on: https://github.com/formatBCE/Respeaker-Lite-ESPHome-integration/tree/main with minor changes to blink with LED ring. .zip with SW you can find in assembly guide.
Design is really minimalistic. Printed parts are practically invisible. Mounted device looks like from market and frankly speaking quality of 3d printed parts does not matter. Assembly process has been simplified as it was possible.
