Description

This razor blade holder was designed because the majority of other scrapers had long handles, and I needed something that I could hold near to the surface of whatever was going to be scraped.

…and then I got carried away. If you're going to have a scraper, you're also going to need a cover so that you don't cut yourself when storing it.

…and you also need a container to hold the scraper, which might as well also hold spare blades.

…and, because the blade is (intentionally) a tight fit in the holder, you'll also need an easy - and relatively safe - way of inserting and removing the blades.

To fit the blade in the holder, drop the blade into the slot at the end of the container and slide the handle onto it. It will be a tight fit (but you'll want that).  To remove the blade, drop the blade & holder into the same slot, this will allow you to safely slide the handle off the blade.

These razor blades are easy to obtain from the usual suspects - Amazon, AliExpress, Temu etc, but also most hardware stores.

I used standard PLA for this, it's strong, rigid and cheap. I have arranged the parts on the hotplate so that they print out by item, not by layer, this way there will only be 2 filament changes and almost zero purge waste.

Have fun and don't cut yourself!
