Description
This lantern design is inspired by the intricate beauty of cathedral stained glass windows. The lamp has a square base and consists of four identical side panels that slot together seamlessly, creating a colorful and elegant light object reminiscent of gothic architecture.
To recreate the vivid stained-glass look, six different filament colors were used — even though a standard AMS system can only handle four colors at once.
To solve this limitation, the printing process is done in two steps:
- First print: two of the six colors.
- Then, without removing the first print from the build plate, switch the AMS filaments to the remaining four colors and start the second print.
This technique allows all six colors to fuse together perfectly on the same plate, producing a seamless multi-color result.
The panels can be assembled without glue — simply slide them together to form the complete lantern. When illuminated, the light passing through the colors creates a beautiful stained-glass effect.
