Description

Roman Soldier Chess Pc.: Legatus Bishop A

'The Legatus was a senior officer in the Roman military, often serving as a deputy to a general or as the commander of a legion. Appointed by the Senate or the emperor, the Legatus typically held significant authority and was responsible for both military operations and administrative duties within their command. They acted as the primary liaison between the general and the troops, often overseeing tactical decisions, supply logistics, and troop discipline. In addition to their military role, many Legati also engaged in diplomatic and political missions, reflecting the interconnected nature of military and civic authority in ancient Rome. Their leadership contributed greatly to the effectiveness and organization of the Roman legions.'

Note: I am printing with a Bambu mini A1. It is AWESOME! I am still learning and apologize for not having better images. I am retired and do this as a hobby. No monies coming in from doing this. So, 'Want to donate a spool of PLA? I would appreciate that!' 😀 Let me know how your printed models came out. Upload some images.  Others will appreciate you doing so.  Happy printing! ~Clyde.

List of chess pieces in this set:

 • IMPERATOR ~ KING: The commander of the Roman army, often a general, who had won a victory.

 • EAGLE STANDARD ~ Stands for the QUEEN: Rally point for soldiers during battle. Also provides the unit's name.

 • LEGATUS ~ BISHOP [Left & Right]: A general or governor, commanding a legion and responsible for strategic decisions.

 • CENTURION ~ KNIGHT [Left & Right]: The backbone of the Roman army, commanding a century (about 80 men) and responsible for discipline.

 • SIGNIFER ~ ROOK [Left & Right]:  Standard bearer, responsible for carrying the unit's standard and managing the unit's finances.

 • MILES ~ PAWNS [4 total, each different]. Reprint to complete set of eight: The basic infantry soldier of the Roman legions, well-trained and equipped. (Provided are four DIFFERENT models.)

ANNEALING ~ Hardening your chess pieces.

Annealing your models gains 10 to 20% MORE strength.  I highly recommend this treatment IF you plan on playing chess with these PLA models.  If you are just a collector and plan on only displaying the Chess Set (Playing carefully 'once-in-awhile') there is no need to treat the PLA model.
