Description
After days of exhausting travel, a weary couple stops for the night in an old castle inn — unaware that a grand masquerade is taking place in the ballroom below, where everyone is dressed as mythical creatures: vampires, werewolves, and monsters of legend.
As the couple drifts into sleep, the exhausted wife begins to sleepwalk and unknowingly wanders into the caretaker’s room — the poor man still dressed as Dracula after the ball. Meanwhile, her husband awakens, finds her missing, and, hearing strange noises in the hall, believes the castle is filled with real monsters.
Terrified, he breaks the bedside lamp and fashions a makeshift wooden stake. Bursting into the caretaker’s chamber, he finds his wife sitting dazed on the bed and the terrified “vampire” frozen in shock. A hilarious yet eerie scene of confusion, fear, and absurdity — a midnight misunderstanding in gothic fashion.
