Description

This is a beta project, and print at your own risk of filament waste!

I used my creality S1 scanner, and reverse engineered the front licence plate cover of my CyberTruck.  My local regulations only require a rear plate, and I wanted to add a cybertruck logo to the front cover.

This has all of the OEM snaps, and will fit directly into the same location as the stock plate cover.

  1.  I am working on what materials to use for the snaps themselves.  The one installed has PETG-CF, but that material is I think too brittle, and breaks too easily.
  2. I will be adding additional supports to the snaps (the actual mesh object), to help them bend and not break when removed.
  3. The tolerance of the part is a little off, and requires gentle care when installing, and patience.  It will appear like it doesn't fit, but gentle movements help the various snaps to fit into place.  I will be removing some material from a few of the snaps so the next revision doesn't have this problem.

Very cool remix of my Tesla Cybertruck Artwork! Nice work! I'd look at trying ASA for the material. It is very temp resistant AND very UV resistant. While it isn't "flexible" per se, it will offer moderate compliance and be less stiff and brittle versus something that is CF or GF filled. I have had excellent results with QiDI ASA. Even on large-ish prints, it prints smooth and almost no warping.

Yeah, I only had the A1 when I first made the model. Now I have an enclosed printer (or 2) and should give that a go! Your artwork was amazing and super helpful to make this possible.
