SMS Saint Stephen - Austro-Hungarian Battleship
Print Profile(2)

Description
SMS Saint Stephen
Launched in 1914, SMS Szent István was the fourth and final Tegetthoff-class dreadnought of the Austro-Hungarian Navy. Named after Hungary’s first Christian king, she symbolized national pride and naval ambition. Armed with twelve 12-inch guns, she served in the Adriatic during World War I but saw little combat. On 10 June 1918, Italian torpedo boats struck her near Premuda, and she capsized and sank. Her loss marked the end of major Austro-Hungarian naval operations.
