Silksong Needle – 180cm Strong Replica+Wall Mounts

This is a full-scale 180cm replica of the Needle from Silksong, designed not just to look good on display but to feel like a real prop.

Unlike most purely decorative prints, this build is engineered for rigidity, weight, and durability — with a flexible tapered tip that feels alive in motion.

The internal structure includes longitudinal reinforcement ribs printed horizontally to improve strength under bending and torsion.
At the core sits a 115cm hardwood dowel (Ø 22mm) — repurposed from a shortened wooden broom handle — giving it a solid spine, real balance, and excellent resistance to bending over time. The final piece weighs almost 1.5kg of PETG, which gives it real presence when handled.

Assembly is done with two-part epoxy for maximum bonding strength.
The surface finish was achieved through progressive sanding (80 → 600 grit), filler primer, more sanding, glossy black primer, and finally a silver metallic wax for a forged-metal look.

Because of its size, I designed custom wall mounts (included in the print files) so the Needle can be displayed horizontally like a centerpiece. They come in mirrored versions, depending on whether you want the tip pointing left or right.
The blade mounts are specifically designed to support the piece without damaging it. They are installed at the same height on the wall and spaced approximately 87.5 cm apart.
