Bust of Cthulhu
Print Profile(1)

Description
Behold your Cthulhu call, ready for the maker's altar!
An imposing bust, detailed down to the last fold of the wings and tentacles, designed to be displayed in a showcase and enjoyed while printing.
This Cthulhu with dragon-like wings combines clean volumes with textured surfaces to let light work its magic when painted. Includes a base/pedestal for display.
Why you'll love it
Brutal presence: expansive silhouette with extended wings; clear readability from 360º.
“Hero” detail: skin, veins, membranes, and tentacles ready for dry brushing and washes.
Print-friendly: optimized geometry to require minimal supports (especially on wingtips and long tentacles).
Flexible scale: designed to be displayed between 15–90 cm tall; rescales without issues.
Printing suggestions (guidelines)
FDM (PLA/PETG/ABS)
Layer height: 0.16–0.20 mm (0.12 mm for maximum detail).
Nozzle: 0.4 mm (accepts 0.6 mm for a faster version).
Walls: 3–4 | Infill: 12–18 % (Gyroid/Cubic).
Supports: tree supports only under wingtips and tentacle ends. 5 mm brim for security.
Orientation: vertical bust with seam/z-seam on the back of the pedestal.
Resin (SLA/DLP)
Layer: 0.03–0.05 mm.
Recommended hollow at 2.5–3 mm thickness with 2–3 drainage holes in the base.
Medium supports on wing edges and lower tentacles; reinforce a couple of anchors on the chin if scaled small.
Suggested painting
Zenithal priming (black + gray + touch of ivory).
Dark greens with turquoise glazes, brown/black washes in creases, and ivory drybrush on edges.
Pearlescent touches on tentacles and a greenish patina on the pedestal for a “submerged temple” contrast.
