Scuba 2nd Stage Adjustment Tool (New!)

This is a handy tool that is used to adjust and tune a 2nd Stage Scuba Regulator. It is a customize screwdriver like tool that perfectly fits into the barrel of a 2nd stage and engages with the slot on the internal orifice. It is necessary to turn the orifice clockwise to tighten the spring, or counterclockwise to loosen. Tighten the orifice until the 2nd stage ceases to free flow. Then fine tune to achieve the desired cracking pressure. Hash marks on the handle in 1/16th, 1/8, and 1/4 turn can help with making fine adjustments.

This tool is needed because standard flat head screwdrivers don't typically fit very well. Most have the flat tip beveled inwards, but the engagement slots on the orifice are out the outer diameter. You end to gouging and damaging the (often) plastic orifice with a badly fitting steel screwdriver. 

You can print this tool in any hard material such as PLA, PETG, or ABS. Note that the tool will wear out and the slot at the end will eventually break or bend. I suggest printing several of these at once, so you have replacements on hand. I prefer to use ABS for this print as it is harder and more durable than PLA or PETG.

I recommend printing the shaft component horizontally for improved strength and durability. When printed vertically the blade can snap off too easily since the layer adhesion of such a small area is minimal. This will only require a tiny amount of support material, easily removed.
