đ°ïž Breton Tide Clock â
This tide clock celebrates the colors of Brittany! Its dial features the black and white of the Breton flag (Gwenn ha Du), enhanced with an ermine in the center. Perfect for sea, port, and beach lovers!
The right side of the dial indicates the number of hours remaining before low tide (falling tide); the left side indicates the hours remaining before high tide (rising tide).
Two versions are offered: a large format in 250mm and a small format compatible with A1 mini of 150mm (see print profile).

âïž Profile Composition

![]() | Smaller dial (150mm). ![]() |
| Plate 2 | Mechanism cover with a wall mount (optional, most mechanisms come with a mount, but this solution is more elegant). It fits easily into the dial, but you can add a drop of glue for greater resistance. ![]() | Mechanism cover, also equipped with a notch for the stand.

| Plate 3 | Stand for placing the clock on a piece of furniture or a shelf. ![]() | Stand, requires printing the mechanism cover. ![]()

| Plate 4 | Hands, to replace the one supplied with the quartz mechanism. In waxed yellow color, it's even better! (Only one is needed.) ![]() | Reduced and adapted size hands. ![]() |
đš Customization
Add the name of your port (Concarneau, Vannes, Douarnenez, etc.) in Bambu Studio on the dial or the stand. For the large format version, I use the French Script font in 25mm and 1mm thickness.
Large format example: French Script font, 25mm size, 1mm thickness. ![]() |
Small format example: French Script font, 18mm size, 1mm thickness. ![]() |
đ Required Hardware
For proper operation, you need to purchase a quartz tide clock mechanism (12h 25min lunar cycle) of size 55x55mm, generally powered by an AA battery. These mechanisms are different from classic clocks.
(Fun fact: if the tick-tock is every second like classic clock mechanisms, the gears are indeed programmed for an extended cycle!)
đ Setting the Tide Time
For the first use, set the hand to the high tide corresponding to your port. You can find official schedules on https://maree.info.
Note that a tide clock is never perfectly accurate: tides depend on the moon, wind, and atmospheric pressure. Remember to re-adjust it regularly (approximately every 2-3 weeks).
â ïž Disclaimer
This clock is indicative and should not be used for navigation. Its main purpose is to visualize the rhythm of the tides decoratively.
