Description
I have been asked many times if the CELL Winder device can transfer large 3kg spools to normal 1kg spools. I said each time “yes, it is possible, but not with a simple, elegant solution". Finally I decided to rework half of the Split Base variant of the CELL Winder so that it can fit much larger spools. To avoid future modifications, I have re-sized this version to fit even some 5kg spools, with max spool dimensions up to 140mm width and Ø315mm diameter.
I did a full test with a 5kg Sunlu spool and I managed to transfer it to five 1kg spools in 15 minutes. I have now black PLA+ at least for the next couple of years :)
New items:
- The large donor half of the Split Mainframe.
- The complete longer spool axis on the wider donor side.
- One extra middle foot.
All the gears, target spool items, feet, handle etc are identical with the ones from CELL Winder:
