In 1984, my younger brother got a brand-new G1 Prowl. That crisp white Datsun—with the black trim and police decals—was pure magic.

Then, disaster. The very next morning, we dropped it. The roof shattered. One of our most beloved Transformers was broken within 24 hours.

We spent 40+ years trying to fix it. Gluing the roof. Scavenging flea markets. Swapping junker parts. Nothing ever looked right—every fix felt wrong.

Fast forward to now: I’ve got a 3D printer, some CAD skills, and an old score to settle.

Yes, there are other replacement parts out there—and I respect the effort—but they didn’t quite nail the G1 aesthetic I was chasing. These toys weren’t just toys. They had a presence. A vibe. I wanted something that belonged.

So I built my own.

This is a fully custom G1 Datsun restoration kit designed to bring Prowl, Bluestreak, and Smokescreen back to life. It includes:

✅ Roof – accurate curves and tab geometry
✅ Rear Window – matched angle and silhouette
✅ Wheel Pins – press-fit replacements for missing or damaged axles

🛠️ Print Details:

• Designed for PLA, PETG for the Pins.
• Supports required
• Brim recommended for better bed adhesion
• Thin-walled, lightweight, and stable
• Sandable and paintable for screen-accurate restoration
• Parts are oriented best for printing.  The roof needs to be printed at an angle to ensure layer strength at the joint, and smooth curves on the flat surfaces.

This kit finally made my brother’s Prowl whole again—for the first time in four decades.

It’s more than a fix. It’s a small act of closure.
