This box was specifically designed for 3D printing with FDM printers and can be printed very cleanly without support structures.
The design is optimized for precision and easy post-processing
Recommended print settings:
- Printer: FDM/FFF
- Material: PLA, PETG, or wood filament (PLA Wood recommended for a natural look)
- Nozzle diameter: 0.4 mm
- Layer height: 0.16–0.2 mm
- Infill: 15–20% (Gyroid or Grid)
- Wall thickness: 2–3 perimeters
- Bottom/Top layers: 4–5
- Support structures: Not required
- Brim/Raft: Not necessary (optional 3–5 mm brim for better adhesion)
- Print speed: 50–60 mm/s
- Temperature:
- Nozzle: 200–210 °C (PLA)
- Bed: 60 °C
- Cooling: 100% from the 2nd layer#
Tip:
If you want a particularly fine surface and detailed lid decoration, use a lower layer height (0.12–0.16 mm) and reduce the print speed to 40 mm/s
The lid should be oriented so that the mandala pattern faces upwards. This creates clean contours and beautiful light passages
Optionally, the box can be lightly sanded after printing and treated with wood oil or clear varnish to achieve a high-quality finish
