🏴☠️ Pirate Ship DM Screen with Cannons – Nomad Sculpt

This is a pirate ship–themed DM screen, sculpted in Nomad Sculpt, designed to combine function and flair for your tabletop sessions.

🛠️ Features:

  • Modeled as a ship’s broadside, complete with cannons built into the portholes
  • Includes porthole covers that can be attached with twine, and I used the same twine to create rope pulls for opening the lids from behind the screen—adding both realism and fun interactivity

🖨️ Printing Notes:

  • The front screen is built in two parts, connected with a dovetail joint added in the slicer. It’s a tight fit —so tight that it took a bit of force (I had to step on it) to snap the pieces securely together
  • Designed to print in multiple sections for easier handling and scaling
  • Works best in wood or matte filaments for a classic ship plank look. Prints were done with Bambu Wood PLA (highly recommend)
  • Can be customized with additional rope, weathering, or ship details for a personalized build
  • The design was made with the maximum scale an A1 Mini can handle, about 70% the scale of a base dm screen.
  • Size accordingly for your printer or scale down inserts for use if you can still read the text

A functional and eye-catching DM screen for that nautical campaign vibe.

Edit: The Dice cannon-versions test prints were successful.

Do try and keep the screen vertical so that the dice doesn't get stuck in the cannon

I ended up having to rescale down from the A1 model to P1S size. The size is much better than the original, and while it won’t hide a full traditional DM screen, it is plenty big enough to hide any DM shenanigans. I especially love all of the wood grain detail that makes this print look real. I’m glad you shared the comment about how tight the snap is on the main panel. I had to push hard to get it in place, but now it looks like one solid piece and I just have to figure out how many side panels I would like to print. Printed with wood PLA.

i would be very interested in an option to print this larger. I printed one panel which was cool, but way too small for my game.

Done! Its untested so print with caution and start with a single panel before commiting to the whole screen. if theres a major issue let me know and I'll rework it!

Unfortunately the print is too small to hide a real D&D DM screen behind. I printed one plate on the a1 mini and saw that it can not even cover one side of the DM's screen. Now my question is: is it made for what i wrote, or it is for you to make your own DIY screen? Anyways, it is a very cool print to make. It is a pitty that it can't hide a real DM screen... Maybe in the future you will release a resized version for it?

Yeah! bit of a limitation for the A1 mini sadly. could work if you added your own info behind it or if you scale it up and use an A1 or other printer. I do intended to resize it I just only have an A1 mini (for now! just ordered my A1)

Isn't the point of a custom dm screen to print the information you need, and put it on the custom? To replace the official screen?

Absolutely awesome work, exactly what I needed.

printed this at 145% with wood pla. love the concept. My only complaint is the square patches caused by the canon flap that was used to make the hinges.
