This is a Halloween version of the Magnitron robot toy I designed: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7152688
The body is a steam punk inspired jack-o-latern pumpkin. Like the Magnitron and the original Magnor toy that the Magnitron was based on , it appears to walk and turns left every foot or so so it doesn't wander off.
The wheels are driven directly from the TT motor. The mounting hole for each wheel is slightly off center causing a rocking motion. A 40 tooth gear is driven by a 13 tooth gear that is made onto the wheel. A cam is driven by the 40 tooth gear. The cam pushes an arm down to prevent one of the wheels from touching the ground. So the toy moves forward about 3 turns of the wheels and then pivots before returning to forward motion. The robot is pretty simple to build. It is driven by a blue all metal gear TT motor and powered by 2 AA batteries. You can put in 2 red leds to illuminate the eyes if you want. I wired the leds in parallel and put a 47 Ohm current limiting resistor in the positive voltage line that supplies them. The tires are made from O-rings from a Harbor Freight O-ring kit. The screws are 3mm of various lengths.
The 3mf file is a Bambu Studio project file.
