Description

Cute Halloween Bat Set – containing 8mm and 10mm straw toppers, fidget clicker and jumbo paperclip.

I’ve separated the individual items onto different plates, named appropriately. The fidget clicker comes in two parts – the top and the base which I recommend printing separately for less waste but you could also use the base as a purge object if you don’t need it in one solid colour (thank you to one of my testers for this amazing idea).

Straw Toppers:

8mm Straw – fits most smaller straws such as those from Starbucks.

10mm Straw – fits Stanley straws, Simple Modern straws and slightly oversized straws.

The actual hole size is 10.5mm. You can scale it to 96.6% if you’d like a more snug fit on Stanleys or you can scale it bigger if you need to fit an even bigger straw but do know the bigger you scale, the more warping will occur on the design. If you need a hole bigger than 11mm let me know so I can add a new profile with a bigger hole instead.

No supports required, you might get a warning in your slicer but it prints perfectly fine without.

Fidget Clicker:

While I’ve made the fangs and eyes larger from feedback they are still on the fringe of what a 0.4 nozzle can manage so I recommend at the minimum to use the Arachne wall generator to print the top piece. No supports required for either piece.

These have been tested working with the following types of switches:

  • Pawpular switches (without the prongs)
  • Kailh Box White
  • Kailh Box Royal
  • Gateron Milky Yellow
  • Gateron Blue

You should be able to purchase these online on Amazon or at a general PC store that sells keyboard equipment.

If the top piece is a little loose, I suggest a dab of glue to secure it (noted to happen on some Pawpular switches).

In general, a standard 15.6mm wide switch should fit in these but may vary depending on filament calibration settings. I recommend printing a mono colour test piece of both parts if you are not using one of the above confirmed working switches.

Edit: I have now added a second base piece for the clickers which include a keychain hole.

Jumbo Paperclip:

I like to print these on a holographic 3D effect sheet, they are about 3mm total thickness so a nice amount of sturdiness vs flexibility for gripping both thick sheets of paper or to use as a bookmark. The 3MF already includes this but if you are slicing yourself, slow down the first layer to ensure it sticks properly as the paperclip is quite thin.

Recommended Settings:

Layer Height: 0.2mm

Nozzle: 0.4mm

Wall Generator: Arachne (especially for the topper and clicker)

Infill: 15% Gyroid

Supports: None

Speed: 20-50mm/s for layer 1, then 150-200 for the rest.
