Climbing Gear Carabiner

Purpose

The ice screw gear clip is a specially developed equipment clip for climbing harnesses. It serves for the ergonomic and secure attachment of ice screws or similar equipment. The design solves the problem of conventional gear carabiners where ice screws hang low and are bothersome. The raised position on the harness improves freedom of movement and significantly facilitates handling while climbing.

Attachment:

• The clip is simply slipped over the waist belt of the climbing harness.
• Additional securing is provided by an elastic rubber band at the bottom end of the clip, which secures it against slipping out.
• This combination ensures a stable but easily detachable fit – no drilling, no modification of the harness required.

• Function

• Positions ice screws higher and closer to the body than classic gear carabiners.
• Minimizes annoying swinging or rattling of the screws.
• Simplifies clipping in and out with one hand, even with gloves.
• Not load-bearing – exclusively for equipment organization (max. static load approx. 5 kg).
