After finishing your Bambu Lab filament spool, don’t throw it away — turn it into something useful!
This design lets you reuse the cardboard core from the spool to make a simple storage box — perfect for small tools, screws, bits, or 3D printing accessories.
How i made it:
🛠️ How to Make It
- Finish your filament spool — print until the roll is empty.
- Open the spool — carefully remove the two plastic halves.
- Take out the cardboard core in the center; this will become the body of your box.
- Print the provided STL files – one for the top lid and one for the bottom base.
- Push the parts together – no glue or screws needed!
The fit is tight and secure thanks to the precise 3D print tolerances.
Now you’ve got a clean, functional storage box made from recycled filament packaging!
